No fuss party celebrations.
We all love to party, well most of us, but we are sometimes overwhelmed by where to start, so we end up doing nothing and those special moments in life slip away. I’ve certainly been guilty of this and often felt the regret of dissappointment from little children who hoped for a happy day shared with friends and lots of party food and fun. The importance of what we want to celebrate is overshadowed by the effort, cost and sometimes just plain indecision. In this case we just have to sometimes adopt that famous quote, ‘Just do it’. Make a decision and just do it. We need to take the hint and know that the effort will pay off with much appreciation, elation and satisfaction therefore it’s all worth the effort, mess, chaos and tiredness that comes with planning a party celebration.
Ok you’ve made the decision to just do it, so now the fun begins and you will have to follow through with yes more decision making. So to make the process easier find some inspiration and allow all your decisions to flow from your first decision and stick to it. Spend some time doing research. Decorating magazines, blogs and websites will provide some great inspiration and get those creative juices flowing and give you a springboard from which to work from. Enlist other members of the family or friends to brainstorm, two three or more heads are better than one. Eliminate the ideas that are too difficult, unrealistic or out of the budget and stick with what you can do. Keep the colour scheme simple with a maximum of three colours, and try to provide some wow factor with a couple of key items. Keep party food to a well done minimum. Less can be more but do the little things well.
One of my favourite party decorations would have to be bunting. This simple little string of flags can be so versatile and if made of fabric can become a permanant decoration in your home and used over again and again for future parties. Combine it with balloons, lanterns or hanging recycled bottles filled with flowers and your half way there to making your party a wonderful event. If it’s a night time event don’t overlook your lighting. Candles, fairy lights and lots of them will create an ambience to complete any look or theme.
So go ahead and just do it, set the date, invites your guests and then start planning the details. For those who simply don’t have the time or still don’t feel they’re up to it, I can help you out. Take advantage of Sweet Stella’s party packages or hire and we’ll have you out and celebrating sooner than you think.
