Do you love Rocky Road?

I Love Rocky Road

Image via Wikipedia

If you can answer yes well get yourself down to the Uni Market in Baker Street 7am to 12 noon tomorrow as I’ll have a limited batch available for the low low price of $1.80 per piece, and tell me what you like most about rocky road. Is it the soft goey marshmallow or the crunch of the nuts (hazelnut in this case). Is it the texture of the coconut or the richness of the chocolate. Maybe it’s just the awesome combination of all of the above and oh… don’t forget the cherries for that sweet burst of flavour. I think my mouth is watering. Hope there is some left for tomorrow! Well if there isn’t any rocky road left you can go for the jelly slice in the shape of sweet little hearts.  Mmm one of my favourites maybe it’s one of your’s too.

Rocky road slice!

If time permits I’ll have some choc muffins as well to take home. Or if you want to bake you’re own grab some of the cute muffin wrappers in red or red and pink hearts $9.95 for pack of 50.

Jelly heart slice. Perfect for engagement or bridal shower parties.

Cause it shouldn’t just taste good it should look good too. Hope to see you then!

Party preparations for Amy

Bought some pretty fabric today for a party I’m styling on Saturday. It’s going to be very pretty and fun for 12yr old Amy and her 8 friends. Picnic style in the park (I hope the weather will be good). Her favourite colours are pink and green so a lovely mix of fresh florals in those colours with a hint of mauve and turquise. I’m making a smash birthday cake which will be a brownie base with pink meringue icing topped with the chocolate dome. Special suprise inside are ferrero rochers, mmm. Sweet treats are a selection of rock candy pictured below. Flavours are choc filled spearmint, choc filled musk, cherry, strawberry and watermelon. Blueberry lollypops are also on the menu. I hope they have a great girlie afternoon and I hope to have some photos to post soon.

A mum’s request.

Been quite busy the last week or so with a few events on. It’s been great getting out and about chatting to people. The last 2 weeks I’ve been out at the new Uni Markets on Saturdays. I’ve always wanted to do a market but most are on Sundays which really doesn’t suit our family so I’m very pleased to be at this market from it’s beginning. I’m sure it will grow and provide another alternative to the sunday markets.

I’ve also been in at Mothersworld during family which was great. I was able to put together a gift basket for a lovely mum who rang me Tuesday morning with an order for her 12 year old daughter for her birthday that day, so the gift basket needed to be delivered that afternoon in Pittsworth. I had to put something together pronto and managed to grab helium balloons, gift box, ribbon etc ready for the courier to pick up by the next hour. Mum popped in signed the card just in time for the courier to pick up, he wasn’t too sure about the balloons but we convinced him that this was an important and very special delivery. He agreed and later told me they arrived all safe and sound. Mum was so pleased as it made her day knowing that her daughter would not be forgotten on her special birthday. Mum was giving birth to her 4th child that night (hence the rush and last minute order) and I was so pleased I was part of such a special day for this family, and how cool for her eldest daughter to be sharing her birthday with her new little sister. How precious and just made my day!

Green and purple, fav colours for this 12 yr old.

Mum was able to leave the hospital to add her personal message to the card which reads, "you make my life sweet".

Ryan & Bek’s Wedding

Bek & Ryan’s wedding ceremony was just beautiful today. The day turned out to be magic inspite of the threat of rain on their outdoor ceremony. In fact due to the recent rain the location looked fabulous and the temperature was just perfect with cloud cover providing the best light for photos. So nice when things fall into place.

The happy groom Ryan

Lolly buffet included stunning black and white aniseed rock candy, silver coated chocolate confetti, gourmet jelly beans, sugared almonds, chocolate hearts, truffles, aniseed humbugs and vanilla marshmallows.

Vinage style cupcake cases

For something not quite so pretty but practical and cost effective. I’ve been checking out different cupcake cases and there are so many gorgeous ones to choose from that I just love. Hope to have some to sell online in the future, but for now I thought it might be a cool idea to make my own. I’m into recycling paper from old books and thought cupcake cases might as well be added to the list of things to make. The cupcakes are baked in paper liners so don’t come into contact with the recycled paper. Could also embellish the cases with ribbon, buttons, paper flowers to add colour and make them a little more pretty.

Pretty pastels

Just Because I like! It’s not hard to guess that at the moment I’m into pretty pinks and blues combined with the texture of worn out white furniture. So easy to live with.

Playing with pattern in fabric, paper and objects is so much fun. I love the challenge of combining different colours and patterns to create a mix that works. Getting the right balance and including just one slightly off beat pattern to create the wow factor. It’s incredible how that one piece added to the mix works to keep a display, quilt or room from being ordinary. This love affair with pattern was mostly inspired from my quilting days and in particular from a workshop I did with the lady who made the quilts for the movie ‘How to make an American Quilt. I can’t remember her name and I have her book here somewhere, but she was a fabulous little lady full of energy and an inspirational teacher. I learnt so much in that weekend workshop and now apply that to most projects I do. So enjoy the mix and don’t be afraid of adding one little something to gain the wow factor.

Vintage style 21st

Aah the weekend, I love to kick back a little with the family. No lunches to orgainze for school and hang out together. Last weekend was a little busy with another photoshoot and styling a 21st for friend Melissa. Held down at Six Mile Country Retreat the venue lent itself to a vintage kind of carnival theme. It was alot of fun getting everything together and it was great to see that alot of guest did make the effort to dress up. Here is one photo of Melissa with brother Rowan. Again we had the wonderful Matt come down unfortunately without Katie, so hope to have some more photos to post soon.
