Inspiration

Weddings are becoming much more varied these days. Couples have so much more choice in how they style their wedding day with so many more products on the market, venues to choose from specializing in weddings, wedding planners etc etc. The sky is the limit if only we all had the budget to do and fulfill your every dream. While most of us are limited by budget that does not mean you need to be limited, you can still have a beautiful and memorable day it sometimes just takes careful planning and creativty. Sometimes you can have so many ideas it can be hard to settle on a theme or colour scheme, but once you’ve made that decision everything can be determined by that. It should be a fun time and an opportunity to get others involved. You’re special day no longer has to be a formal affair, it can be bright and quirky, vintage, organic and simple.

Hope you’ll be inspired by some of the wonderfully different wedding photos below.

Every detail of this wedding is just stunning. To make you feel a little better this bride is a creative director and has a very talented group of friends and collegues who helped out. Lucky!  Eunice and Daniel have really thought of everything little detail, even the stage has been purpose built for their ceremony. Definately check out all of the photos from this one here. Found at 100 Layer Cake.

Another do it yourself wedding with an outdoor location that is just magic. Check out greenweddingshoes.com, for loads of inspiration. For more of this couple, Cori & John click here.

Sweet Style on a budget.

Cori designed the dress herself which was made by her cousin, keep it in the family with talent like this.

I love the name tags made from playing cards.

This simple tree provides the perfect backdrop for this couple's ceremony.

For couple Kelly and Joseph this wedding was everything they wanted it to be. Everything was vintage, they had a million photographer friends taking photos (including the wonderful Leah Verwey), picnic blankets, kazoos, karaoke and more. This had to be one of the most laid-back and fun weddings ever!  To see more click here or check out 100 Layer Cake.  Believe it or not this couple did it all over again. Yes another ceremony and reception – well it’s a great idea if you can’t decide on one theme or you have family located in different places. To see their second wedding which took place in Mexico click here. These photos are from their wedding in the woods.

Beautiful romantic table setting with individual china crockery.

Beautifully styled by Anne Sage and inspired by Pride and Prejudice, this dreamy  romantic setting will have the bride never wanting to leave for the honeymoon.

Sooo pretty!

I love the drawers as the wedding cake table.

Dessert Buffet.

Stunning individual desserts.

Peach and teal equals vintage beauty.

I’ve posted below some more photos from the wonderful Matt and Katie for some inspiration. Enjoy and be inspired.

Hayley made the most beautiful bride which was no suprise to me. Hayley and her new hubby Roger are the cutest couple and have been together since high school. To catch more photos and read some of their journey together click here.

Take a look at this wedding below which is completely different to Roger and Hayley. It’s bright, whimsical and charming. I love that so many elements have been hand crafted and work so well together. No particular colour stands out, it’s just bright, but oh it works. Obviously alot of hours of planning and creating, but if you’re on a tight budget what a way to make impact without breaking the budget leaving more for you to spend on a honeymoon or setting up house. Take a look around the world is full of fun ideas, so don’t be afraid to do something different, you just might be the talk of the town by breaking the mould.

Imagine walking down this isle!

With a start like this the rest of the day would be pure joy.

It's time to celebrate during this kiss, check out the guys on the right.

Invitations would have given a sneak peak into the theme.

A mix of flowers and objects for the table centrepiece.

Now this is novel. Messages from guests written on strips of fabric to make the tale of the kite.

If only I had been this creative and fun on my wedding day. Makes you want to do it all over again.

Thankyou so much to this wonderful couple for being such an inspiration. For a few more shots of this wedding click here, found at Green Wedding Shoes.

If this is how you start your journey together in marriage I’m sure you’ve set the tone for your days ahead, and that’s really what it’s all about. Celebrating the moment you become man and wife, sharing an amazing day with the person you love and enjoying the lifelong ride no matter where it takes you.
