Pretty High Tea at Gabbinbar Homestead

With the warmth of spring in the air and Christmas round the corner who wouldn’t enjoy a gorgeous high tea shared with girly friends to get into the spirit of Christmas or to celebrate a bridal or baby shower. The grounds of Gabbinbar Homestead provide a stunning indoor or outdoor venue which is where this lovely photo shoot took place to showcase a collection of businesses. Networking together created a beautiful event and we can do the same for you whether it be a corporate or private function.

Businesses involved were Impressions on Scott who provided the delicious food. We sampled the most divine macaroons, cakes, sandwiches and mousse. Thank you so much Anita.

This couple followed their heart when making decisions and it proved to result in the most amazing day filled with lots of tender moments and emotion, not to mention lots of details. It was a gorgeous day back in May located in the little town of Nobby. I loved everything about this wedding from the backyard ceremony location to the casual relaxed atmosphere offered by Rudd’s Pub. Kelly’s mum had passed away and Jason suggested they be married under a special tree her mum had planted. This created a few challenges as the house had not been occupied and was in need of much attention. After much planning and many hours of working, the vision unfolded and touched all of those present. Another tree was planted to honour the occassion and their were so many other little touches like her mum’s wedding rings tied to Kelly’s bouquet. Kelly loves tea so she spent many days hunting for teapots and cups to use for table decoration. The week before the wedding I happened to meet Helen from Elegant Vintage Hire and we were able to add some more teapots and pretty cups and saucers from her extensive collection. The flowers from Swish were a gorgeous selection of roses, carnations, snap dragons, babies breathe and more in pretty pink, vibrant orange and green. All the dresses were made by one of Kelly’s bridesmaids and gave a real vintage style to the wedding. So much of this wedding was a labour of love with so many people contributing and helping out with set up and pack down and added so much to the atmosphere of the day. It was a wonderful wedding to be invovled in and with our friends Matt & Katie doing the photography and Regan playing at the Reception we felt right at home. I think the best weddings are those where there is a generous spirit to give and help make someones day extra special. This wedding is certainly a testimony of that.

What a pleasure it was to get together with this gorgeous and head over heels in love couple. We’d been planning this shoot for awhile and waiting on the perfect morning as I knew we needed an early morning frost to have all that lovely fluffy mist. Finally we were able to all pull it together and we were all so happy with the result. This is just a little teaser so stay tuned for more images soon.

Shabby Chic Birthday Party for Ally.

When you’re 11, doing something special with your friends i high on the wish list. Ally is just the sweetest young lady and her mum Helen wanted to do something extra special to celebrate. Ten little friends shared in the most gorgeous high tea at Ally’s home followed by heaps of fun with props and their own personal photographer. It was delightful watching the girls enter the room with an overwhelming response to what was in store for them. Strawberry jelly and cream in petite tea cups, chocolates and the most gorgeous looking and tasting macaroons made by a friend all beautifully laid out on pretty cake stands amongst a collection of tall glass vases, pink mosaic candle holders and sprays of pink and cream roses in white teapots. The best reward for being involved in creating a beautiful celebration like this is witnessing how special all the girls fee, and watching them enjoy each others company and being a part of Ally’s special celebration. Megan & Hayden’s Wedding

It’s about time I shared some of this wedding which took place at a remote park outside the little town of Pittsworth back in March. The gorgeous bride Megan wanted something different…yah…I like this kind of bride and she wasn’t afraid to step out of the comfort zone of a typical venue. This park was pretty much just long grass and scrub when I first viewed it and no facilities whatsoever, not even a loo. But that is no problem these days as more and more couples opt for the challenge to make their day unique and true to their own style and are willing to embark on the challenges that this kind of wedding provides. For Megan & Haden a whimsical woodlands feel was order for the day and it turned out to be just that with misty light drizzle just as Megan arrived for the ceremony. Thankfully everyone came prepared with umbrella in hand and the afternoon was a continuous dance between the sun and the drizzle. A light afternoon tea followed the relaxed ceremony under the trees and the jade green umbrellas. I must make special mention of Megan’s dress which was stunning as she walked down the isle as the fabric moved beautifully with each step, it was purchased from Spurling. Anyway enjoy and be inspired.

I met Renee a while back when I helped her out with her little daughter Sunny’s 1st birthday. Renee has a love for shopping inspired by her great sense of style, and she especially has a love for shoes (and quite a collection to prove it… so jealous). Styled Photoshoot with Nic & Kate Part 1

Had such fun doing this styled shoot with these young girls Nic & Kate. Young girls love to have their photo taken and it’s a great way to boost their confidence and have a memory of their teenage years. The girls bought along a selection from their wardrobe and we added a few accessories and some gorgeous props.

The afternoon provided the perfect light for this location and with a real live prop called Pixie, who nearly stole the show I might add, Linley was bound to capture some gorgeous moments and that she did. With so many beautiful photos and I’m only sharing a small selection so I’ll have to do in 2 parts. Hope you enjoy!

Kiara & Callum’s Wedding

So excited to announce that I can finally share some photos from my daughter Kiara’s wedding to Callum which took place October 2011 at a lovely private garden at Flagstone Creek just south east of Toowoomba. It’s been a long wait but there has certainly been a good reason for it, as their wedding has been featured in Cosmopolitan Bride which hit the shelves recently. It’s kinda caught me by surprise as I’ve been on holidays enjoying some lovely time with my family so I must say I haven’t had my head on my blog as the sun and surf have been calling most days with the gorgeous weather we’ve been experiencing. I wandered into a newsagent today and as I’ll check out the Bridal Mags I discovered Cosmo was out, OMG it’s actually out. I must say I was a little panic stricken to think that details of my blog were in the magazine so tonight I’m just doing a very quick update before we return home tomorrow, with mixed emotions I might add as I know it may be sometime before I get back to the coast which I love so much. So a couple of photos just to satisfy your curiosity but please check out more on Matt & Katie’s blog as they have featured quite a collection capturing the details and emotion of the day. Annika & Tim’s Engagement Party

Where better to celebrate than in your own backyard so clear out the shed, move in a lounge, clear off the stainless steal bench, hook up some lights and add a little bunting and find a few hay bales and you’ve got the makings of the perfect setting for a casual celebration. This Aussie engagement party with 80 guests precedes an intimate wedding in Canada in March 2012. It was such a pleasure helping out this lovely couple and with friends about to help hang the lights and bunting it all came together in a matter of hours before the guests arrived. Here are a few pics I snapped before taking off to my next destination.
